The GLOBE Alumni : Asia Pacific Region
The GLOBE Alumni is meant for the students and teachers who have graduated from secondary school and have the desire and commitment to participate in the activities of the GLOBE Program on a new level. This organization hopes to build a network of those who still would like to contribute to GLOBE and in addition to create initiatives on a country, regional, and international level to continue to support GLOBE teachers and students.
The Vision of GLOBE Alumni states that: “The GLOBE Alumni is a corps of volunteers dedicated to serving the GLOBE Program. The Alumni support and assist Country Coordinators, Partners, teachers, students, and communities in their implementation and expansion of GLOBE and contribute to the sustainability of the Program.”
Mission: GLOBE Alumni will:
- 1. Serve as energizers/motivators for students.
- 2. Participate in the GLOBE School Networks as e-mentors.
- 3. Provide continuity and a community of memory for the GLOBE Program.
- 4. Ensure a link to the trends and culture of today’s youth.
- 5. Provide learning and networking opportunity for GLOBE Alumni.
By creating this organization within the GLOBE community, Alumni will have the opportunity to establish networks of friends, business colleagues, and others that share a common interest through events, research collaboration, and projects set forth by Alumni and the GLOBE Program. Levels of involvement can vary from one to many activities depending on the Alumni’s availability, flexibility, and willingness to volunteer. Furthermore, using communication and networking technologies that are currently available will allow for steady communication among alumni communities.
Thus, The GLOBE Regional Office for Asia Pacific invites and encourages the ones who were once a GLOBE student/teacher and would like to join The GLOBE Alumni and we further encourage you to join us for exciting opportunities surrounding the GLOBE Community.
