Expedition starts in
About Learning Expedition to the Sea.
This annual event is organized by the GLOBE Asia-Pacific Coordination Office (APO), it aims to bring together students, teachers, and the scientific community from different Asia-Pacific countries to collectively “learn through observation” issues surrounding our oceans and water systems due to man-made and natural events. Participants will also learn how to use GLOBE Protocols as a means to contribute to the understanding of the Earth System and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
The Expedition will be an opportunity for teams of GLOBE students from the Asia-Pacific region to meet one another, learn together, and showcase the results of their GLOBE projects.
In addition to the student presentations, special events for training participants on the GLOBE Salinity Protocol will also be organized.
Students in the region will have chance to get to know one another and work together on projects to improve their local communities, express themselves creatively, and build a genuine understanding of the world outside their neighbourhood through cross-cultural sharing and regional relationships
Schools will be connected with two to four other schools in the region using online Video Conferencing and Collaboration Tools. Students will build relationships and learn from students in Philippines, Mongolia, Maldives, Taiwan, Thailand and beyond!

The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program is an international science and education program. It provides students and the public worldwide with the opportunity to participate in data collection and the scientific process and contribute meaningfully to our understanding of the Earth system and global environment.
There are more than 38500 GLOBE schools in 127 countries around the world. Over 800 thousand students have participated in GLOBE contributing more than 233 million measurements to the GLOBE database for use in their inquiry-based science projects.
